Tea Recipes

celiascupYou thought that this was going  to be something mystical and symbolic, didn’t you?  Oh come on,  yes you did.  No, these  are real tea recipes.  I love to write tea recipes.  I haven’t put quantities because that’s up to you, based on your own taste (except for hibiscus, which should be used in moderation because it will really make your mouth pucker up) .

Most of these herbs can be grown in your own garden or purchased from health food stores on on the internet.  Each of these is a little better with some honey. I hope you enjoy these.

Incubation Tea (Incubation is what the Druids did  – they would lie in a dark place and wait for inspiration.  This is a winter tea for dreaming and musing):  Chamomile, Sweet Gale, and Rose Petals

Beltane Tea (A Spring tea): Wood Betony, Bee Balm, Orange Peel, Rose Petals

My Love Is Like a Red, Red Rose (A Summer tea): Rose Petals (I like rose petals), Jasmine, Cloves, and Elderberries

Spices a la Mare (an Autumn tea): Wood Betony, Cloves, Elderberries, Ginger, Cinnamon, Orange Peel

Persephone Tea (Also known as “Find Your Voice” tea because agrimony is traditionally used by singers): Agrimony, lemon balm or lemon verbena, a dash of hibiscus

Painting is from The Goddess of Afternoon Tea by Celia Player.  Used with permission of the artist.
